With This article there will be another series of articles about photography; i don't steal any more time and we start!
"Photography is not a problem, photography is a riddle, because the problem has a solution and the riddle is a problem that has no solution." This phrase attributed to Massimo Cacciari summarises how to define photography in a unique way is not simple. Many critics and scholars have attributed various definitions: a simple reproduction of reality, a language without a precise code, an art form, not an art form, but only a service technique, a product of use or consumption, a form of Communication... In short, different and undefined thoughts in an immutable way.
I Would like to recall the definition of Luigi Ghirri's photograph, which in practice sums up its non-definability. "I have always looked at the photographic image as something that cannot be defined, a kind of impossible image. I have always seen a strange synthesis between the stacity of painting and the speed of cinema. In Fact, my time of observation of a photograph is not very dissimilar to the way of reading a classical painting; But on the other hand, cinema is a series of photographs in sequence. I Believe that in this sense photography is an impossible image: an image that on the one hand has the stacity of painting, on the other the dynamism of cinema.
In general photographing means to confront a scene that strikes, trying to fix what we observe at the best. By Taking A photograph we give a personal interpretation of reality.
And a good photograph is rarely a cold reproduction of the framed elements, but it sums up the emotion or creativity of the photographer who took it, along with his ability to communicate and tell.
Basically Photography does nothing but represent the perceptions that a person has of the world. Another thought of Ghirri can help us to understand that "you can look at photography as a way of relating to the world, in which the sign of those who do photography, then his personal relationship, his relationship with the existing, is yes very strong , but it must orient itself, through a subtle, almost alchemic work, to the individuation between one's interiority, the interior world photographer-person, and that which stands outside, living outside of us, which continues to exist without us and will continue to exist Even when we're done photographing her... A strange and mysterious balance between our interior and the outside world. We'll get to face a particular landscape-environment and put something more of what is our experience, our culture, the way we see the world: we'll get to forget a little about ourselves. Forgetting oneself does not at all pose itself as mere breeders, but to relate to the world in a more elastic, non-schematic way, starting without fixed rules, precise and pre-ordained platforms.
When we photograph see one part of the world and another we delete it: "The photograph keeps open the moments that the thrust of the time closes immediately".
